IE the a/c compressor, power steering pump, or alternator.

RE: WANTED: ASAP someone to do T-Belt job

well...

the car has been in the garage since last night. i just went out and started it up. before, i checked all the fluids, they were okay. i removed the ugly front plate bracket. put the grill on the correct way. pissed around some more in the garage. car sounded fine. maybe could use a valve adjustment. i had a driver's side taillight out yesterday. i bought bulbs. i went around to make sure it was the driver's side and they all work....wtf??? so, i get in the car that has been running for awhile. the car is up to operating temps. i start to give it gas (in neutral) ......no weird noises. i gently accelerate up to around 2500-3000....no noise. no noise when the revs drop. i kind of jabbed the accelerator quickly to the same rpms. it sounded like something came popped or came loose, or something and then the noise is back. it only does it at 1500 rpm. revving up or letting the revs fall, it is at 1500?????

i swear i had nothing to drink.

i am now though.

RE: WANTED: ASAP someone to do T-Belt job

well on my 99' it started making the same noise (not as bad) around 36k and i took it in at 75k and it was the tensioner. the sh i just got has 77k on it. it is between 2-3500 rpm. sounds like a whirling/rattle-ish growling noise.

RE: WANTED: ASAP someone to do T-Belt job

The auto tensioner will not make noise. When it fails you will just bust valves. There is no warning.

WANTED: ASAP someone to do T-Belt job

just picked up a 00' SH. it is now making a growling sound when the revs fall. i am pretty sure it is the auto tensioner going bad. i drive a lot and need this fixed before it breaks. anyone wanna do it? price? when can you do it? obviously i prefer someone who has done this a a few times.
thanks.
-roger
