You might have trouble getting the inner joint out of transmission. Replace the axle and then get an alignment. A hit hard enough to bend an axle might damage the transmission also. Its nearly impossible to bend those things without control arm or subframe damage. Do a check of all your normal wear items (ball joint and brake pads are the big ticket things to check). Also check the axle seal on the transmission.
