| | As the title says my H22 stalls out when i first start the engine then when it gets warmed up it idles fine? well i shouldnt say fine it kinds dives and rises a tad. a little back history on this, when i first bought the car the guy said it idled high. I discovered the throttle cable was too tight, i loosened this up, the idle started to go about 500 to 1.5 RPMs, i took it to a friend and he adjusted the idle screw and it seemed to be fine (car was warmed up) i got it home and it started to stall at lights untill its warmed. Im not sure about this issue, could this be fuel filter or anything with fuel? I am missing a vacuum line on my EGR valve. any help would be great!! thanks. heres a pic of the line  |

| First guesses, fuel filter (pain to do, but even if it's not bad, it's probably time), clogged EGR valve, or PCV valve. I'd throw a guess to the IACV as well, but i'd try the first three (they're cheap and fairly easy) first.

| | hey thanks for the reply, i need to get the book on this car i think i have the chiltons for the accord and it covers the prelude... for the IACV i can clean that with standard intake and TB cleaner? |

| A fuel filter will NOT make it do that. You need to find that vaccum line and see if its not capped. It sounds like you have a vaccum leak because of that line. Your friend needs to put that golden screw driver away and you need to take it to a real mechanic if you cant figure it out. If you need help with your issue I am available in the next two weeks. I'm located in Lima, OH.

| fuel filters don't cause problems in newer cars. infact Honda doesn't reccomend that you ever change them. People just do it unnecessarily because thats what you used to do back in the day. if its not an obvious vaccuum leak from a line or what not I would check your IACV, thats most likely the culprit.

| | Thanks, ill check the IACV, is it supposed to do something if i unplug the electrical connector? i did and nothing happened but CEL light? i guess ill have to comb through the lines, ill let ya know what i find. Thanks! |

| | UPDATE! Well i adjusted the warm idle adjustment per the chiltons manual and so far it seems to be idling fine (tested for 10 mins at work) but so far it stays constant and does not stall, i will actaully have a road test in a few hours when its my lunch break well dinner haha. ill keep ya posted. |
